Hi, I’m Carla. I used to write more as a kid, all the way up to when I was in college. Now that I’m working, though, I’ve been feeling like I haven’t gotten in touch with myself and that I’ve partially been disconnected with the things I really enjoyed and were of second nature to me.
Growing up, my parents instilled in me and my brother this thirst for going places. There’s a certain thrill in exploration, and I’ve been lucky enough to be able to go where I dare. Recently, I’ve taken to the thrill of traveling on my own, too. It’s one heck of an experience.
I love taking photos and I love clean lines. MUJI is my favourite store. I binge on Korean dramas and relaxing (read: healing) variety shows. I will pick coffee over alcohol any day. I am currently learning Japanese (though I admit it’s getting worse, huhu). I graduated with a degree in architecture with the dream of building my dream house full of sunlight, books and tastefully minimalist furniture. Since the fall of 2018, I started my postgraduate studies in urban studies in Switzerland, after having lived and worked in Singapore for almost six years.
